Death Valley National Park, California/Nevada
"A pastel sunset at the lowest point in north- America. At -282 feet below sea-level, Badwater Basin is a salt flat in Death Valley. The salt forms in a repeating hexagonal pattern that is stunning. After it rains, the salt flats flood up with puddles that reflect the sky. Walking through the puddles and hearing a soft splash, with an array of pastel colors reflected above and below, this sunset felt like a dream. And yes, I tasted the salt."
